At the beginning of each game session, each player will be given 1 blue-colored poker chip for each level their character possesses. Additional blue-colored poker chips will be awarded during play to players the GM feels deserves a small reward for good roleplaying, good humor, good ideas, or the like.

A player may spend a blue chip on one of the following at any time:

  • Immediately recover 5 VP (as long as the total VP does not exceed the character's maximum)
  • Immediately heal 1 WP (as long as the total WP does not exceed the character's maximum)
  • Add a +1 reward bonus to any d20 die roll. (This will not translate a natural 19 into a threat 20.)

There is no limit to the number of blue chips you may spend at one point. For example, a player begins play with four blue chips and gains three more blue chips over the course of the session. At a dramatic moment, he spends all seven chips at the same time to gain a +7 to an important die roll. Alternatively, he could have spent all seven to recover up to 35 VP or heal 7 WP. This could have made a difference in a critical combat.

Any unspent blue chips will be redeemed for 50 xp apiece at the end of each session.

If you need a conceptual reason for this effect, consider it a brief positive surge in the Force for the PC.
